Irfan Pathan Tweeted Why Virat Kohli Deserves A Crown: The Indian cricket team registered a magnificent 157-run win to go 2-1 up in the ongoing 5-match Test series with a game to go. Following a humiliating defeat in the third Test at Headingley, the Indian cricket team showed immense fighting spirit to make a solid comeback in the 4th Test match.

It was India’s first win at The Oval in 50 years, not just this, it was for the first time since 1986, team India managed to win more than a single Test on a tour to England.

The Joe Root-led side had resumed the final day strongly placed at 77 runs without loss and even after losing a couple of wickets in the 1st session, they moved to 131/2, and at that point, all three results were expected. However, the Indian bowlers had other plans. Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur turned the game upside down.

Umesh Yadav picked three crucial wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja picked two wickets to help the Indian side register this stunning win. However, the way Indian skipper Virat Kohli rotated the bowlers and handled the team deserves also deserves a lot of appreciation.

After the stunning win, Kohli fans on social media united to remind the haters and trollers that, Virat is, in fact, the ‘GOAT captain’ in their eyes after the terrific Oval win. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also took to Twitter and wrote a beautiful tweet for the ‘captain’ Virat Kohli.

In his Tweet, Irfan took a dig at how we often give a lot of credit to skippers, whenever a team performs well. Therefore, he feels that as far as Indian test cricket is concerned, Virat Kohli deserves a crown. He wrote:

“I know and believe it’s the team who wins the match not just captain but We give lot of credit to many captains, Soooo How about a CROWN for @imVkohli as far as Indian test cricket is concern???? #ViratKohli”
