Indian pacer Ishant Sharma starred with the ball and caused havoc at Eden Gardens as he took a 5-wicked haul in the first-ever Pink ball test between India and Bangladesh. His extra-ordinary contribution helped team India register their seventh consecutive win in Test.

On Sunday, Virat Kohli and company defeated Bangladesh’s cricket team by an innings and 46 runs, kickstarting their day/night test match journey with an amazing note.

Ishant Sharma returned figures of 5/22, which was his second five-wicket haul for India which came after a period of 12 years. Ishant Sharma was awarded the titles of Man of the Match and Man of the Series.

After the match, Ishant Sharma talked about his bowling and current form. He said:

“I am enjoying my cricket right now. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself before. Earlier I used to think that I am beating the batsmen but still not taking wickets. Now I don’t think all that. All I tell myself is that I have to take wickets. Obviously, I have the experience and so I need to adjust to the conditions as soon as possible.”

He was also quizzed about the pink ball. Amidst the interview, a journalist came up with a silly question that got a hilarious response. Ishant Sharma’s reply left everyone in the room laughing. The journalist asked, “if the ball was visible during the night and evening session or not?”

To which Ishant responded, “Yes, sir. When the lights are on, you can see the ball.”

Here, watch the video of the same:
