After 13 years of hard-work in international cricket, Ishant Sharma was honored with the Arjuna Award, which has motivated the veteran Indian pacer, Ishant Sharma. And what could have been a better day to honor the veteran other than the National Sports Day.
Ishant Sharma, who made his international debut in both Tests and ODIs in 2007 and T20s in 2008. Even after so many years, Ishant Sharma vital player in the longest format of the game. After receiving the award, Ishant Sharma took to his social media and expressed his happiness regarding the same. He wrote how every step that he took ahead in the game was aimed to take India’s name to a higher level. He wrote:
“I realised my passion for cricket at a very young age and since then I have been striving to give my 100 per cent effort day in and day out. Every step I took to improve my game was aimed at taking India’s name to a higher level. Till the time my body allows, I will continue to do so, and by God’s grace after that as well,”
He further thanked the sports ministry and BCCI for their support. He wrote:
“I sincerely thank the ministry (sports) for this recognition. Lastly, a huge shootout to BCCI for giving monumental support in this journey and the journey going forward. Not to forget, congratulations to all the fellow Arjuna Awardees,”
Sharing the statement on his twitter account, Ishant Sharma wrote:
