On Saturday, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh expressed shock over the unexpected rise in his electricity bill.

In his Tweet, Harbhajan Singh took a dig at his electricity provider – Adani Electricity – and sarcastically asked if he has been charged for his whole colony this time. As per Harbhajan Singh’s message, the bill was of INR 33,900. He pointed out how the bill is 7 times the normal bill. The 40-year-old off-spinner also added the message he received from the power supplier’s board in his tweet. He wrote:

“Itna Bill pure mohalle ka lga diya kya ?? @Adani_Elec_Mum ALERT: Your Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited Bill for 152857575 of Rs. 33900.00 is due on 17-Aug-2020. To pay, login to Net/Mobile Banking>BillPay normal Bill se 7 time jyada ??? Wah”

Here, check out the Tweet of Harbhajan Singh:

Notably, Harbhajan Singh isn’t the only one who complained of a high electricity bill. During the nationwide lockdown, Bollywood celebrities including the likes of Taapsee Pannu, Huma Quresh, Vir Das, Pulkit Samrat were among the few celebrities who had complained about the rise in their electricity bills. Infact, Taapsee Pannu shared a tweet for receiving a heavy bill of Rs. 36,000 for a house that is not even in use.

Talking about Harbhajan Singh’s last outing with the Indian cricket team, he last appeared in a T20 match in 2016 in Dhakar. However, he continued to play for Chennai Super Kings by picking wickets last season.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh was all set to play for his team Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, which was initially suspended because of the Coronavirus pandemic, however, now the league will be back in-game with IPL 2020 from September 2020 onwards.
