“Jab Tu Under-19 Khel Raha Tha, Tera BAAP Test Cricketer Tha” – Sohail Khan To Virat Kohli

Fast bowler Sohail Khan, who has played for Pakistan in 2017, has recently been in the news for his raging opinions on Virat Kohli, Babar Azam, Team India, the BCCI and the IPL among other things. The 38-year-old Sohail Khan, who appeared in 9 Tests, 13 ODIs, and 5 T20Is, made sensational, eye-popping revelations of his interaction with Virat Kohli.

Kohli and Sohail Khan came face to face during the India-Pakistan clash at the 2015 World Cup in Adelaide.

Batting first, India posted 300/7 with Kohli scoring a match-winning century. Sohail Khan, too, had his moment in the sun that day as he picked up his only 5-wicket haul in ODIs, including wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Raina, Dhoni, and Rahane.

India defeated Pakistan by 76 runs in that encounter with Kohli bagged the Man of the Match award.

According to Sohail, during that game he had a heated verbal interaction with Virat Kohli.

“Virat came. He said to me ‘Aap cricket mein abhi aaye hain. And itni baatein karte ho (You’ve just arrived, and you speak so much). I was a Test cricketer back then. I had played Test matches in 2006-07. Then in between, I endured a troubled knee, which forced me out of action.

“I said, ‘Beta jab tu Under-19 khel raha tha na, tera baap Test cricketer tha‘ (Son, when you were playing Under-19 for India, your father was a Test player). That’s how I said it. Then, if you look carefully, Misbah intervened, and he got angry at me. He asked me to keep quiet,” Sohail revealed the story on the Nadir Ali Podcast.

After a number of such comments on Kohli, IPL, and BCCI, from Sohail Khan, he got the attention of the Indian fans who had lambasted the 38-year-old, trolling him for his statements.

Sohail Khan took 27 Test wickets in 9 Tests; Virat Kohli has 27 Test centuries!

Sohail Khan started his Pakistan career in 2008, and his last international match was in 2017. However, his career was plagued with injuries and consequently he could feature in only 27 international matches wherein he fared decently.
