Jasprit Bumrah is back and will be seen doing what he does the best — bundle up the wickets. He has rejoined the team after a gap of four months. He played his last international against West Indies after the World Cup in 2019 and hasn’t really appeared in the games that took place after that because of a back injury.

Recently in an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Jasprit Bumrah opened up about a number of things regarding his game till now. Recalling how he used adaptability to be his main key strength in the South Africa tour before which he was almost like an unknown person in the test format. Talking about how he rectified his mistakes, he said:

“Yes, I always learn on the go. Like the way, I started in South Africa (where he made his Test debut in January 2018). I’d never gone to South Africa. I was playing my first Test. When you play in India, you look to bowl full because there’s not a lot of bounce over here. But in South Africa, I quickly realised that when I bowled full, they play through the line and it’s easier for them to play that length,”

Talking about how to get the Australian out, which was his first one-day wicket, he said:

“My first one day wicket is Steve Smith. There’s no particular way that you get a batsman out. You study what the wicket is doing, then select the best option. What I look to do against any good batsman, is to have patience. A Test match is a patience game. You wait for the batsmen to make mistakes. Whoever loses their patience first is the one who’s going to suffer.”

About his return to the game, BCCI via their official twitter handle posted a video of the star, where he can be seen bowling in the nets. Sharing the video on Twitter, BCCI wrote:

“Missed this sight anyone? ???
How’s that from @Jaspritbumrah93 #TeamIndia #INDvSL”
