Before the fourth Test match between India and England, set to begin in Ranchi on Friday, the BCCI announced that Jasprit Bumrah has been released from the squad due to workload concerns. The decision was made considering the length of the series and Bumrah’s recent workload.
Jasprit Bumrah Rested For Fourth Test; KL Rahul Ruled Out

Mukesh Kumar, who was excluded from the squad for the third Test in Rajkot, has now rejoined the team in Ranchi.
Additionally, KL Rahul will miss the fourth Test, and his availability for the final Test in Dharamsala depends on his fitness, according to the BCCI statement.
India is in a favorable position to clinch the series in Ranchi. However, if they fail to do so, they’ll be heavily reliant on Bumrah for the crucial fifth Test in Dharamsala, starting on March 7. Rahul, sidelined due to right quadriceps pain, was reported to have reached 90 percent fitness last week, as per sources.
“He is reaching his match fitness and should be available for Ranchi Test,” a source told news agency PTI.
Rahul showcased his batting prowess in the first Test in Hyderabad before reaggravating the injury sustained during last year’s IPL. Since his return after a four-month hiatus, he has consistently performed for India in various formats. Notably, he was the sole centurion for India in the drawn two-Test series against South Africa in December.
India’s updated squad for the 4th Test:
Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Akash Deep.
