The joy of parenthood has knocked on the doors of India’s star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, and his wife Sanjana Ganesan. On Monday, the couple welcomed their newborn son, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, into the world. Breaking the news on social media, Bumrah’s heartfelt post quickly garnered widespread attention and went viral.
This significant event comes amid Bumrah’s participation in the Asia Cup 2023, currently underway in Sri Lanka. Opting for family over field, he returned to India for the birth of his son. Consequently, Bumrah will not be playing in Team India’s imminent match against Nepal. However, fans can expect him to rejoin the Indian squad for the upcoming Super 4 game against Pakistan next Sunday.
Jasprit Bumrah Shares A Beautiful Message After Becoming Father For The First Time

“Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. Previously, in a rain-affected match against Pakistan, Bumrah had a short batting stint. He faced 14 balls and scored 16 runs. Unfortunately, heavy rain denied him the opportunity to showcase his bowling skills, much to the disappointment of his followers. The rain led to the cancellation of the game, and both teams had to settle for a point each.
This temporary absence from the Asia Cup comes after Bumrah’s nearly year-long hiatus due to a back stress fracture. Since his comeback, expectations have been sky-high, which makes his brief exit even more noteworthy. Nevertheless, his planned return against Pakistan is already generating buzz and excitement among cricket aficionados.
On the competition front, Pakistan has secured its spot in the Super Four stage with three points, thanks to a robust win against Nepal and a rain-cancelled match against India. Now, the stakes are high for both India, which has one point, and Nepal, with zero points. Both teams must win their next game to have any chance of advancing to the Super Four stage.
