Jay Shah Announced A Huge Cash Prize After India Win U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

The BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has made a big announcement on the prize money for the entire team that lifted the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa. The Indian cricket team captained by Shafali Verma defeated England by 7 wickets in the final on Sunday.

The Indian cricket team-led by Shafali Verma BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has made a big announcement on the prize money for the entire team that lifted the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa. Team India defeated England by 7 wickets in the final on Sunday. 

The inaugural edition of the Women’s T20 U-19 World Cup was played in South Africa and Team India has etched its name in the history books by defeating England in the final showdown.

Meanwhile, just a few minutes after the Indian side lifted the prestigious trophy, social media was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans and followers of Indian cricket. BCCI secretary Jay Shah also took to his Twitter and announced prize money of INR 5 crore for the entire team that lifted the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup in South Africa. Besides the prize money, Shah also invited them to watch the third T20I between India and New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He wrote:

“Women’s Cricket in India is on the upswing and the World Cup triumph has taken the stature of women’s cricket several notches higher. I am delighted to announce INR 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. This is surely a path-breaking year.”

He added: “I invite @TheShafaliVerma and her victorious team to join us at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad and witness the third T20I on 1st February. This humongous achievement surely calls for a celebration. @BCCI @BCCIWomen”
