England Cricket Team is in India and preparing for the upcoming 5-match Test series. Touring India in never easy, but England would back themselves after their performance in the last Test series in India, in which they outplayed a strong Indian team and lifted the trophy. This series promises to be a good one as both the teams are well-balanced and there are a lot of individual battles to look forward to, and the biggest of them all will be Virat Kohli against James Anderson and other England bowlers. Kohli is one of the best batsmen in world cricket across all three formats of the game, but his record against England in Test cricket is not that great.

England’s batsman Kevin Pietersen is ‘booming’ the microphone these days in the commentary box. Pietersen, who has been ignored by the England Cricket Board due to ‘disciplinary’ reasons, has joined the commentary team and he is one of the commentators in the ongoing series between Australia and South Africa. Kevin Pietersen spoke with The Cricketer in an interview and shared his views on Virat Kohli.

Considered among the top three batsmen in the world, Virat Kohli has often drawn comparisons with young English batter Joe Root. Kevin Pietersen very candidly said that Joe Root has good numbers but Virat Kohli’s numbers are just phenomenal and picked him ahead of England teammate Joe Root.

This is what Kevin Pietersen said in an interview:

“Virat Kohli is as good as it gets. He is right up there. Root has good numbers, but it’s unfair to even compare Joe with Virat because his numbers are just phenomenal. He plays so aggressively – sometimes it’s like – are you serious? The way he makes big runs for his team so often is just remarkable,” Kevin Pietersen was quoted as saying by `The Cricketer` magazine.
