Kapil Dev is one of the greatest all-rounders to have ever played the game. India’s hunt for an all-rounder ever since his retirement 23 years ago is still on. Perhaps Hardik Pandya has given India some hope with his impeccable all rounder skills.

Kapil Dev in an interview heaped a great quantum of praises for Hardik Pandya. Talking about Hardik Pandya, the legendary cricketer said, “He is better than me”

Kapil Dev was the first Indian captain to lift the world cup and the veteran represented India in 131 tests and 225 One Day Internationals. Talking about the comparison of him with Hardik Pandya, Kapil Dev said, “There should not be any comparison. But as I’ve said earlier, Pandya is better and we should just let him settle down for a couple of years”

Hardik Pandya has been amazing with both bat and the ball across formats. His brave knock of 93 in the first innings at Cape Town has got the cricket fraternity in awe of him. He was the only Indian batsman to get a fifty in the first innings but missed out on a well deserved century. He’s going strength to strength with every game.

Kapil also praised India’s pace attack

Talking about India’s pace attack which wreaked a havoc on the South African batsmen in the first test, Kapil Dev was all praises for them. The former Indian captain feels that this pace attack with Shami, Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar, Umesh, and Ishant is the best fast bowling attack he has seen in a long time.

The bowlers set it up beautifully for India in the first test at Newlands but the Indian batting let the match slip away to the Proteas. The bowlers crafted a fair chance for India to win the first test as the Proteas were all sent back to the hut for just 130.
