Former Indian captain Kapil Dev picked opener KL Rahul as the batsman he would love to bowl to, snubbing the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. At a recent event, as learned by timesnownews.com, the 1983 World Cup-winning skipper was praiseful of the Lucknow Super Giants captain.

Upon being asked about the batsman he would love to bowl to, Kapil glisteningly picked
Rahul as some heads turned with him not picking either one of Rohit or Kohli.

Based on the these batters’ current form, there shouldn’t be any surprise: in the ongoing IPL 2022, Rahul is the second leading run-scorer with 368 runs in 8 innings and has slammed couple of centuries; on the other hand, Rohit and Kohli have managed only 153 and 128 runs respectively, with no half-century from either of them.
And while Rohit has struggled with injuries and missed matches and Kohli’s numbers have nosedived in the past couple of years, KL Rahul has India’s all-format bank and has been in tremendous form.
Jasprit Bumrah tops the list for most wickets in the #WTC23 cycle. Will anyone dethrone the Indian speedster? 🤔

Further, Kapil was asked to pick the bowler who would love to face, to which he responded with pacer
Jasprit Bumrah‘s name without any hesitation. Bumrah is India’s spearhead bowler across formats and is the go-to man for his captain in any situation in the game. Bumrah made his international limited-overs debut in 2016 and his Test debut in 2018 and has quickly climbed the success ladder playing a key role in the away wins.

The 1983 World Cup captain also picked his former teammate Sunil Gavaskar as the most complete batsman he has played with. Gavaskar was part of the Kapil-led side that lifted the World Cup trophy, defeating the mighty West Indies in the final at Lord’s. Two years later, Kapil was part of the Gavaskar-led team that won the World Championship of Cricket.
