One of England’s most-decorated captains and most-skilled batsman of all time who was the first one to execute flawless switch-hits with consummate ease, Kevin Pietersen, spoke up about one of the most burning issues in Indian cricket. Indian cricketing fans have been fighting, debating, rustling and rumbling amongst themselves about MSD’s return to cricket.

The entire country has been polarized into two factions. One of them believes that Dhoni has already played his last match while another sect believes that he has still got some cricket left in him. To fuel the fire in the unofficial discourses raging wide over social media platforms as Covid-19 lockdown has discouraged people to take it to the streets, a picture of MSD emerged on the internet which showed him wrapped in a blanket of age.
Everyone was probably eyeing the IPL 2020 to be Dhoni’s return to the game and the only springboard for him to go for his final dance in the Indian colours. However, this virus has put a spanner in those plans as no cricket is now being prophesized in the near future.
However, the man around whom so many controversies are flying wild has decided to stay shut and keep his characteristic calm to only propel the speculations of all his firebrands.
Amidst all these debates and controversies, Kevin Pietersen decided to lend his voice to one of India’s finest captain who has given the nation several trophies and has crafted India an aura of invincibility.
Kevin Pietersen Comes Up With The Sensible Opinion on MS Dhoni’s Retirement
According to the South African-born British cricketer, Dhoni must only pull the plug on his career when he decides to do so. In an interview to Times Now, KP cited, “I think after what MS Dhoni has done for Indian cricket, he decides when he wants to hang up his boots, no one else.”
A few days back Pietersen stated that Dhoni is the best captain he has ever seen, highlighting the 38-year old’s legacy in the game. KP heaped praises on MSD, saying that it is not an easy task to lead India in cricket where the sport is a religion and the Indian wicket-keeper has been doing a phenomenal job, leading not only his country but also his franchise in IPl, Chennai Super Kings.
Pietersen also stated, “It will be very difficult just with the weight of expectation to go against MS Dhoni because of what everybody expects from him, how he has to live his life and what he has been through captaining India and then captaining the CSK.”
Dhoni is the only captain in the world to win the ICC World Cup, ICC World T-20 and ICC Champions Trophy. Dhoni has also led Chennai to IPL glory thrice in his decorated career.
