Kevin Pietersen Heaped Praises On World Class All-Rounder Ravindra Jadeja: Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen showered praises on Ravindra Jadeja, urging upcoming England cricketers should follow the Indian all-rounder if they want to have a long career in the longest format of the game.
The Indian star player Ravindra Jadeja is hailed as one of the most talented all-rounders ever. Over the years, the cricketer has cemented his place in the Indian squad and has given many memorable performances while representing Team India. So far, Jadeja has scored 220 wickets in Tests and 227 in limited-overs cricket, however, it is his batting that has made him a huge sensation in the Indian cricket team.
Kevin Pietersen’s statements have come ahead of the much-awaited World Test Championship final, which will kickstart from June 18th, in Southampton.
Recently, in an interview, former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen hailed praises on Ravindra Jadeja. Though England have a fast-bowling all-rounder in Sam Curran, however, Kevin Pietersen feels that the England cricket team needs to find a ‘Ravindra Jadeja’ of their own. The cricketer-turned-commentator has insisted that the current England team needs a fine left-arm spinner like Jadeja, who can also contribute with his fine batting performances down the order.
“It frustrates me that there still isn’t an international-standard English left-arm spin bowler who bats. Look at what Ravindra Jadeja has done for India in Test match cricket, one-day cricket, and T20 cricket,”
“It’s the one position that the ECB must be prioritising. They need to invest in somebody because someone of that ilk is priceless across all three formats. If you’re a kid, an emerging player, or a county cricketer, copy Jadeja. Copy what Jadeja does because he’s an absolute superstar. You’ll have a long career as a Test match cricketer for England,” Pietersen wrote in his blog for Betway Insider.
