Kieron Pollard Opens Up About Virat Kohli’s ‘Notebook Celebrations’

Last night, the audience at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, witnessed the return of ‘vintage’ Virat Kohli’s classic performance. The damn aggression of Virat Kohli, that fans were waiting for a long time was back and it truly reflected in his performance as he helped India to gun down their highest-ever T20I chase.

The Indian skipper smashed the bowlers of West Indies to all the corners of the ground and went on to score 94* to chase down mammoth 208 with more than an over to spare. All thanks to Virat Kohli, the game was an absolute thriller.

However, the moment that gave us goosebumps was when Virat Kohli mocked Kesrick Williams by imitating his infamous ‘notebook celebrations’. Well, in 2017, Kesrick Williams had given Virat Kohli a ‘notebook-style’ send-off after taking his wicket. Seems like it was one of the things King Kohli could not forget. It was Virat Kohli’s turn last night to make Kesrick get the taste of his own medicine by mocking him.

After the match, Kieron Pollard was asked about the ‘notebook celebrations’ done by Virat Kohli. He said that it is the part and parcel of the game. Talking about the same, he said:

“He is an animated character, a great batsman, and he continues to show the world that he is a world-class batsman. His theatrics or whatever, it comes as part and parcel of the game. Sometimes you have to be like that to pump yourself to score runs, and so I am fine with it,”
