Kieron Pollard’s Unbelievable One-Handed Stunner In ILT20

As he has done on a regular basis throughout his career, Kieron Pollard pulled off another stunning catch while fielding in down the ground position recently in the
International League T20 (ILT20) tournament, taking place in the UAE.

In Tuesday’s game against the Desert Vipers in Abu Dhabi, Kieron Pollard, who is the captain of the MI Emirates team, added another to the list of the ridiculous catches he’s pulled off, giving another startling, unbelievable moment to the commentators and the fans.

It was a low full-toss outside the off-stump from left-arm orthodox spinner Samit Patel that Colin Munro smashed down the ground, trying to hit it over the long-on fielder, Kieron Pollard. However, Pollard plucked out his right hand, even jumped a little in the air, and stumbled behind after grabbing the ball, so that he was facing the crowd behind the boundary line.

As the crowd in Abu Dhabi and the commentators expressed their disbelief at this acrobatic take from the lanky West Indian, Pollard sat on his haunched to soak it all in, and even he would have been left surprised at what he’s pulled off.

To be fair, it would have been a simple take had Pollard been fielding at the boundary edge, because he was more than a couple of yards inside the boundary line when he hung in the air to take the catch.

Here, look at this stunning one-handed catch from Kieron Pollard in the ILT20:

Kieron Pollard in great touch in ILT20

Pollard, who has retired from the IPL but will continue to play in other franchise leagues, has been in superb touch in the ILT20 tournament. Despite batting lower down the order, Pollard is the leading run-scorer of the MI Emirates team, who are currently third on the points table. The big Trinidadian has scored 225 runs in 5 innings at an average of 75 and a belligerent strike rate of 177.
