KL Rahul had an impressive finish to this year’s season of Indian Premier League with 659 runs for his team, Kingx XI Punjab. He impressed everyone with his thrilling performances. He was the only player of the team who consistently gave many brilliant performances throughout the tournament.

Recently, in an interview he said how he was very happy to see MS Dhoni back in the vintage form and bat with without any pressure. MS Dhoni played amazingly well in this year’s IPL, he was one among the top scorers from his team. He led the team brilliantly with his captaincy and lifted the trophy of IPL for the third time.

Talking about the brilliant performance of MS Dhoni, KL Rahul said that MS Dhoni is still the best finisher in the game. He said:
“I always enjoy watching Mahi bhai bat on TV.. I enjoy it. The way he won matches was wonderful to see. It was great to see him back as captain and he won the IPL again,”
He added:
“That speaks highly about him as a person and a leader. Absolutely enjoyed watching him hit those sixes. He gives a lot of heart attacks to the opposition which is good to see.”

KL Rahul too played many thrilling knocks throughout the season. He is the third player to score the highest runs in the IPL. In 14 matches, KL Rahul scored 659 runs. He slammed five more half-centuries in the league and his highest being 95 runs. Infact in the first match itself, he created a new record by hitting the fastest half century.

KL Rahul also talked about the team and R.Ashwin, the skipper of Kings XI Punjab, he said:
“What can I say? Happy I performed well in the IPL. This was a big year for me. Every year is a big year. But it was a new franchise and it was a great experience overall.”

He added:
“The two months we spent together – it was something very new. Coming from a different franchise was.. a very new experience,”
“It’s not that we could not get back our winning momentum after the break. The T20 format was very tricky. In the second half, it was different.”
Talking about the leadership of R.Ashwin, he said:
“Ashwin was very calm – he spent a lot of time with the bowlers. He understands what the bowlers are thinking about. It’s the same with the batsmen as well. He understands what bowlers go through after a bad day. He was very relaxed as a captain, very well balanced,”

KL Rahul also praised Universal Boss, Chris Gayle and his brilliant performance in the league. He said:
“Chris Gayle an entertainer on and off the field. If he fires, no team can stop him. We are assured of a win. It was great to see him play the way he did this year. He was hungry. Our relationship from the past carried on over to the ground. Our role was to be as destructive as possible in the Powerplay.”
