Elegant India wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul is eyeing a comeback to the Indian team and international cricket through the Asia Cup 2023 that will be played from August 31 to September 17.

The continental tournament will be held in a hybrid model in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. All of India’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka while Pakistan will retain the hosting rights.

Speaking of KL Rahul, even though he’s been dropped from the Test and T20I Xis, the 31-year-old is an integral part of the ODI setup as the wicket-keeper and middle-order batsman in the absence of Rishabh Pant.

The Lucknow Super Giants captain sustained a thigh injury during the IPL 2023, while fielding in a match against RCB in Lucknow. He was immediately pulled out of the remainder of the IPL 2023 and soon flew to London for his thigh surgery.

Over the past month, after returning from a successful surgery, KL Rahul has kick-started his rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Rahul is giving his best to make a comeback soon.

It has been reported that the right-hander will be fit in time for the Asia Cup late in August and will slot back in the line-up straightaway as the keeper-batsman. KL Rahul is being seen as the wicket-keeper in the ODI side for the World Cup 2023 as Rishabh Pant has been certainly ruled out from the tournament that will be played in India in October-November.

KL Rahul took to Instagram to give a progress of his recovery

Fans were happy to see KL Rahul giving his best in training and gyms on this path to complete recovery from the thigh injury. Recently, he posted an Instagram story of him leg pressing a very heavy load, hinting that he’s close to full recovery and is expected to soon hit the nets.
