Babar’s often assumed in the same league as someone as good as Indian skipper Virat Kohli. However, the Pakistani run-machine has refrain to talk about his comparisons with Kohli rather than attempting to emulate his success as a batsman at the highest level. However, former Australian player, Tom Moody rates Azam as the next big thing in cricket. The former Sunrisers Hyderabad coach feels that the 25-year is a special batsman to watch.
Tom Moody picks Babar over Kohli
Tom Moody is a great Babar Azam fan. While he feels that people crave about getting an opportunity to watch Virat Kohli, Babar in his consideration is someone special.

“He [Babar] has emerged over the last year or so into something that is going to be so special. We talked about how Virat Kohli is so good on the eye as a batsman. If you think Virat Kohli is good to watch, have a look at Babar Azam bat. My gosh, he is something special,” said Moody.
Moody was also of the view that recognizes Babar as one of the top five batsmen in the next decade to follow.“I think in the next five to ten years, he will definitely be in your top five [batsmen of the decade] without a question, ” he added. He also opined on Babar’s not so impressive Test career for Pakistan so far. However, he believed that the Lahore-born batsman was hardly taken seriously as a Test cricketer during his early years and will only go on to improve his Test numbers in the years to follow.
