Rohit Sharma is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket. In the last 6 years or so, Rohit, who is also known as Hitman, has redefined batting on One Day International (ODI) cricket and destroyed almost every bowling attack across the world.

Rohit Sharma made his debut for India in 2007 but his career flourished only after former Indian captain MS Dhoni promoted him to the top of the order and made him open the innings in the ICC Champions Trophy (2013). Rohit changed his game as per the requirements of the opening slot and the rest, as they say, is history.

Recently, Rohit Sharma interacted with his fans and followers on popular social media platform Instagram. In a recently held Instagram Live session hosted by former England captain Kevin Pietersen, Rohit Sharma answered many questions from his fans.

4pm tomorrow Indian Standard Time I’m interviewing @ImRo45 on Instagram Live about EVERYTHING!

That’s 10:30am GMT.

Hope you can join us! #HitMan

During the interaction, Kevin Pietersen asked Rohit Sharma about the lowest point in his career so far. The Mumbai Indians captain said that not getting picked for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 was the saddest and lowest point in his career.

“Not getting picked for the 2011 World Cup squad, that was the saddest moment as it was happening in our own backyard, the final was played at my home ground,” Sharma said.

Rohit Sharma also spoke about Sachin Tendulkar’s influence in his career.

“I grew up watching Tendulkar. I learned so many things by reading his book, which inspired me to play at the highest level. The name of the book is ‘The Making of a cricketer’, in that book his journey is mentioned. Through all the hardships he’s gone through, it was never easy for him to reach the level he did,” Rohit Sharma said.

“The most important thing I learned is being humble and at the same time disciplined as well. You tend to slip away but that hasn’t happened with him. That is something that I try and bring into my routine. The sky is the limit and there is no end to anything, ” Rohit added.
