Kumar Dharmasena, the cricketer-turned-umpire, is hailed as one of the best umpires in the world. He has witnessed the journey of several cricketing stalwarts very closely, over the years. He has often received praise for his umpiring skills from the legends of this game. Not only this but when he picked his all-time XI a few years back, he earned more accolades.

No Place For Virat Kohli In Kumar Dharmasena’s All-Time XI:

The video of the all-time XI that he picked a few years back has resurfaced on the internet and has been making rounds. However, the fact that he has not picked Virat Kohli in his all-time XI has irked the fans.

Kumar Dharmasena picked two dashing openers to kick off the innings for his side — Matthew Hayden and Sanath Jayasuriya. Both left-handers have been known for their disastrous batting styles.  At No.3 comes former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who is not just hailed as the most successful captain in world cricket but for his dominating batting skills as well. Ponting is followed by Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, the master-blaster.

Kumar Dharmasena picked the legendary Brian Lara at number 5, followed by the legendary batter Kumar Sangakkara, who is arguably the best batsman the island nation has produced in history.

Further, Kumar Dharmasena picked Jacques Kallis at number 7. At number 8, he picked the ‘Sultan of Swing’ Wasim Akram. The line-up has a perfect finish with the likes of Muttaiah Muralidharan, Shane Warne, and Glenn McGrath filling up the last three spots.

Dharmasena’s all-time XI:

Matthew Hayden, Sanath Jayasuriya, Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Kumar Sangakkara, Jacques Kallis, Wasim Akram, Muttiah Muralidharan, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.
