Latest ICC Test Rankings For Batsmen: Cheteshwar Pujara climbs to second

Cricket LoungeBy Cricket Lounge21/03/2017Updated:09/02/2023No Comments4 Mins Read

Cheteshwar Pujara scored a match-saving double hundred in the recently concluded Test against Australia in Ranchi. Pujara batted for 525 balls and became the first Indian batsman to play 500 balls (or more) in an innings.

In the latest ICC Test rankings, Cheteshwar Pujara has climbed up to a career-best second place in the ICC Test rankings for batsmen. Pujara’s double-century in the third Test propelled him to 861 rating points, enough to displace Kane Williamson, who has slipped to fifth place. Virat Kohli has struggled to get going in the series so far and this has led to his downfall in the ICC Test rankings.

Australian captain Steve Smith, who has scored 2 hundreds in the series so far, is still the number batsman with 941points and he has a healthy lead of 80 points from Cheteshwar Pujara, who is at the number 2 spot with 861 points. Check out the full list here:
