Kolkata Knight Riders star spinner Varun Chakravarthy married his long-time girlfriend Neha Khedekar in a lavish ceremony held in Chennai. Varun Chakravarthy was rewarded for his outstanding performance in the IPL 2020, where he picked 17 wickets for KKR in 13 matches, with a maiden call from India last month, however, he had to miss his flight because of an injury.
The couple was originally scheduled to get married earlier this year, however, their wedding was postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Both Varun and Neha were staying in different cities during the nation-wide lockdown, while Varun was stuck in Chennai, on the other hand, Neha spent the lockdown in Mumbai. In a statement, Varun’s IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders revealed:
“Chakravarthy and Khedekar were originally scheduled to get married earlier this year, before the Coronavirus pandemic forced them to postpone the ceremonies, were staying in different cities at the time when the nation-wide lockdown was announced.
“While Varun was stuck in Chennai, with his area marked a containment zone around May-June, Neha spent the lockdown in Mumbai,”
Meanwhile, an adorable video was shared by Varun’s IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders via their official Instagram account. In the video, Varun and Neha gave a fun cricket twist to their wedding as Varun can be seen bowling a couple of under-arm deliveries to Neha, while their friends and relatives cheered them on. Sharing the video, KKR wrote:
“Big congratulations to @chakaravarthyvarun and @neha.khedekar from the Knight Riders Family as they begin their journey as husband and wife,”
