List Of Teams That Are Now Out Of IPL 2023 Playoffs Race

IPL 2023

The competition for the remaining 3 playoffs spot in the IPL 2023 is getting stiffer with each passing day. With only 4 days of the league phase remaining, only 1 team – Gujarat Titans – has qualified for the playoffs. Hardik Pandya’s team, which has 18 points in 13 matches, have also secured a top 2 finish and will play the Qualifier 1.

Which teams have been knocked out of the playoffs race in IPL 2023?

Two teams – Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad – have been eliminated from the playoff race in IPL 2023. 7 other teams are still in contention for the remaining 3 spots in the top 4 and four teams are in contention for the remaining one spot in the top 2.

Delhi Capitals were the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race, followed by SRH.

IPL 2023

IPL 2023 Playoffs Qualification Chances:

GT – Qualified.
CSK – 96%.
LSG – 95%.
MI – 60%.

RCB – 36%.
RR – 6%.
KKR – 4%.
PBKS – 3%.

Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants both have 15 points in 13 matches. A win in their last game for both will seal both of their playoff spots. A loss for RCB against SRH will also help both these teams finish into the top 4.

Mumbai Indians have 14 points in 13 matches and can reach 16 points, but their NRR is much worse compared to RCB who can also reach 16 points. Both MI and RCB can qualify should they reach 16 points and one of CSK or LSG lose their last game.

RCB will play SRH today for their 13th game of the IPL 2023 season and they have 12 points. So they can reach 16 points at maximum, which, given their healthy NRR, could see them through to the playoffs.

Punjab Kings recently lost their 13th match of the season, against the Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala. This has hurt them big time as now they can only reach 14 points. 3 teams are already at 14 points or more who have not qualified yet.

RR, KKR, and PBKS all three have 12 points in 13 matches. All three can reach a maximum of 14 points. But even then they can be eliminated if MI and RCB or one of them both also reach 16 points. RR, KKR, and PBKS need to win their last game and pray for a number of other results to go their way.
