[VIDEO] Lockie Ferguson Hilariously Speaks Lagaan Movie’s Famous Dialogue

Ahead of the start of the World Cup 2023, senior New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson made a hilarious attempt to speak a famous dialogue of the movie Lagaan.

The Aamir Khan starrer Lagaan film is one of the most renowned Bollywood movies which is based on cricket and was released back in 2001. British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne played crucial roles in the movie.

In a fun segment for the ICC, Lockie Ferguson was videoed speaking the Hindi sentences said by the British characters in the movie.

In the video, the fast bowler attempts to speak “Teen Guna Lagaan Dena Padega”. His accent makes it funny and this video went viral all over the internet on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ferguson has made giant strides since losing the World Cup 2019 final four years ago at Lord’s to England. Not only he’s grown in stature, bagging deals in the IPL and cementing his place in New Zealand’s side as the X-factor fast bowler, but he’s also been elevated in the leadership role: Ferguson captain the Kiwis last month to a 2-1 ODI series win in Bangladesh.

He’s been bowling well this year: in 2023, the fast bowler has taken 8 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 5.99.

The Black Caps will kick-start their World Cup 2023 campaign in the tournament opener against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

They are likely to be without their captain, Kane Williamson, for the tournament opener. Even though Williamson batted in both of New Zealand’s warm-up matches, he is expected to sit out from the match against England as he continues to recover from the knee injury he sustained in the IPL 2023. He didn’t field in the two warm-up matches and fielding seems to be a bigger risk for New Zealand in the case of their skipper.

Tom Latham will lead New Zealand against England in Williamson’s absence.
