The Indian Premier League is getting more exciting, more thrilling day by day, match after match and it won’t be wrong to say that this season of Indian Premier League will be the season of IPL till now.
Sunrisers Hyderabad played their second match tonight and won by beating Mumbai Indians by one wicket. Billy Stanlake and Deepak Hooda both of them contribute a lot into the winning, eventually it was because of their bowling and fielding and ofcourse Shikhar Dhawan’s and other players batting which helped them to gain this glorified second win of the season.
But our heart goes out for Mayank Marthande who did his best and showcased one jaw dropping performance to make his team win. Hands-down today, the best performance was given by the latest Mayank Markhande.
Before the match started Kane Williamson, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Mumbai Indians team gave them the target of 147 runs which was wonderfully chased by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Shikhar Dhawan scored 45 runs in 28 balls with the strike rate of 160 including 8 fours. Wriddhiman Saha scored 22 runs in 20 balls including 3 fours.
The fans of Mumbai Indians are very disappointed by their captain who scored 11 runs in 10 balls including 1 four and 1 six.
Kane Williamson, the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad said:
“One of those games that comes down to the wire. The surface was a bit different than the last one, and we were slow to adapt. Hooda at the end was outstanding. He (Rashid Khan) seems to just turn up and is so world-class in how he operates.
He’s a great weapon for us. We have a number of very talented local bowlers. Sandeep bowled very nicely tonight. We fought back well after the powerplay. At the halfway stage, I thought it was going to be scrappy because the wicket was slowing up. The last ball can go either way so it was nice to win. It’s important we adapt well, learn from some things from this game”
Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai Indians said:
“Still early days. It was a good game. I’m sure everyone enjoyed it. Being on the receiving end for the second time is tough to digest. It wasn’t a good enough total, and our batsmen should have done better, but the bowlers showed a lot of character to get us back into the game.
We have a great squad, and for the youngsters to come out and perform, it’s amazing. They have a long way to go. Tough luck, we fought till the end, but to lose isn’t a great feeling.”
But the best one came from Rashid Khan. He won the man of the match tag, here’s what he said:
“Dot balls is crucial in such a short format. That was the plan to bowl as many dot balls as possible. That was the message from the management to go and enjoy yourself, that’s what I did. I just try my best to bowl in good length area and mix it up for the batsman.
As he’s in his stance, I can see where he’s trying to hit. Love to bowl both, the leg-spinner and the googly. People back home love the fact that Afghanistan players are playing here. We want to see their smiling faces, because what’s happening there is not so good.
That’s what all of us are striving for. Want to dedicate this win to my friend whose son is in the hospital. Everything will go to him”
