Last night, the match was won by Kolkata Knight Riders beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium of Hyderabad. The match was more like a ‘do or die’ situation for Kolkata Knight Riders. After the win, KKR became the third team to qualify for the playoffs.
It was a very crucial and tough match for Kolkata Knight Riders as they were competing against the best bowling line up of the league. Before the match started the toss was won by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, being the defending champions they chose to bat first, making it more difficult for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Surnisers started the first innings of the match with a bang by the openers. Shikhar Dhawan played a brilliant knock and scored a half century off 39 balls, hitting 5 fours and 1 six. The other opener of the team, Shreevats Goswami scored 35 runs off the 26 balls.
The skipper of the team, Kane Williamson scored a quick 36 off the 17 balls he played. The other players were not able to contribute much to the total scores of the team and ended up with the total scores of 172 runs.
The bowlers of the Kolkata Knight Riders started off slow but fastened at the last overs and gave amazing performances. Prasidh Krishna, the ace bowler of KKR, took four wickets today.

The Kolkata Knight Riders looked very determined to win the match. The opener of the team, Chris Lynn scored 55 off the 43 balls.

Sunil Narine made a thrilling cameo for his team, he scored a quick 29 off only 10 balls he played. With an amazing strike rate of 132, he smashed 4 fours and 2 sixes. Robin Uthappa played a brilliant innings and scored, 45 off the 34 balls. The skipper of the team, Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten and scored 26 runs in 22 balls.
