The number ranked ICC Test batsman, Marnus Labuschagne, has won over the fans with his brilliant reply to a fan who asked him his opinion on India’s legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar.

Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne, who is preparing for the upcoming tour to Pakistan, held a Q&A session on Twitter on Friday and was asked various questions regarding his personal and professional life.

One of those queries was about his views on Sachin Tendulkar. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2013, Sachin Tendulkar, the leading international run-scorer, remains an inspiration for budding cricketers and guards immense respect.

Marnus Labuschagne revealed that he still watches videos of Tendulkar batting. He hailed the legend’s batting technique, saying it is “unbelievable” and there is so much for him to learn from the way Tendulkar played the game.

“Still love watching old footage of @sachin_rt bat now. unbelievable technique, so much to learn from how he played the game,” replied Marnus Labuschagne. Fans really liked and appreciated this comment from the current number 1 Test batsman.

Here’s is Labuschagne tweet:

Labuschagne’s career took a flight since he came in as a concussion substitute for Steve Smith during the Lord’s Test in the 2019 Ashes. He scored a fifty then replacing Smith and saved the game for Australia.

He has not looked back since and plundered loads of runs in Test cricket, rising to the numero uno spot; with 935 rating points, Labuschagne is sitting way ahead of next best Joe Root who has 872 rating points.

Since that Lord’s Test, in August 2019, Marnus has amassed 2010 runs at an average of 64, with 6 hundreds and 11 half-centuries.

With Steve Smith’s form taking a dip recently, Labuschagne will be key for Australia on their upcoming trip to Pakistan, their first in 24 years, where the two teams will battle out in a three-Test series followed by 3 ODIs and a one-off T20I.

This will, though, test Labuschagne and the rest of the Australian batters on a different level as this is Australia’s first away tour in more than two years after they had cancelled their visit to South Africa last year on covid grounds. A stern test against Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali awaits Marnus Labuschagne.
