Marnus Labuschagne Responded To Sachin Tendulkar’s High Praise

Marnus Labuschagne is having the time of his life batting for Australia since the Ashes last year. He became a vital part of their batting line-up after showing his heroics in that drawn series. After that, he continued his form in the home assignment against Pakistan and New Zealand where he scored a total of 896 runs in five Tests at an average of 112, which also includes a double century, two 150s, one century and three half-centuries. Talk about a purple patch for a batsman and what more can you expect from it.
Ever since then, he has become a huge name in the cricketing world and even the greatest of players are showering the youngster with praises. The latest one to compliment the batsman was the all-time highest Test scorer, Sachin Tendulkar who thinks that Labushangne is a star in making.
As quoted by India Today, Sachin said: “His footwork is so precise. So, he would be the one I would say. I was sitting with my father-in-law. I saw Marnus get hit off the second ball from Jofra Archer and, post that, the 15 minutes he batted, I said, this player looks special’. There is something about him,”

Labushagne recently attended the Australian Awards, where he asked about the praises that he got the Little Master and what does he think about it. He was pretty grateful to hear someone like Sachin compliment him for his batting.
He said: “It was pretty amazing, it’s one that I will definitely… I was quick to read it and it hit me. Amazing words from someone of that caliber. I was very grateful for his words and just stoked really,”
Till now Labuschagne has played 14 Tests in his short career during which, has amassed 1459 runs at an average of 63.43 with 4 tons and 8 fifties. He has scored 1249 runs in ongoing ICC World Test Championship, in 9 Test matches with four centuries, 7 fifties and a double century. The way his career graph is going, it is just the beginning of a very special player.
