Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah have reportedly been the subject of racial abuse by the Australian supporters in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s third Test match. The news came out after the Day3 of the Sydney Test came to an end after team India was heading towards the dugout.

Team India has already lodged an official complaint to the match officials after Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj faced racial abuse. If reports are to be believed then the International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken note of the matter.

Popular journalist Boria Majumdar also took to his Twitter and through a series of Tweets revealed how Mohammed Siraj was abused by the drunk supporters. Siraj was called Monkey, ‘wa**er, Mother F… by a section of supporters.

He was called Wan…. Mother F… Monkey etc etc. This is just ridiculous. How on earth in an advanced society does someone get subjected to this? Unbelievable and unacceptable. Hope we see some action on this. @BCCI shouldn’t leave this.

Team India’s security official also had a chat with the security officers at the Sydney Cricket Ground with even the ICC Security official present. a BCCI official was quoted as saying by news agency ANI,:

“The tour has surely turned sour and the last thing you expect in a civilized society is racial abuse. The ICC (International Cricket Council) and Cricket Australia need to be very responsive to this as the possible alternatives are not very pleasant for cricket, especially during the present circumstances. The Sydney Test has now become an acid test for CA interim CEO Nick Hockley and we are in complete solidarity with our boys. Racial abuse is unacceptable,”

Talking about the match, Australia took a crucial first-innings lead of 94 runs after three batsmen were run-out on Saturday, while the visitors were bundled up for just 49 runs.
