Mathew Wade Reacts On Team India’s ‘Bio-Bubble’ Controversy: The year 2021 began with a bad note for team India after a controversy erupted when Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and 3 other cricketers were accused of breaching the bio-bubble in Melbourne ahead of the third Test in Sydney of the ongoing 4-match Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

For the unversed, the protocols strictly mention that the cricketers are allowed to move in the city and dine at a restaurant but in an outdoor one only. Therefore, when a video of 5 Indian cricketers went viral on social media, where they can be seen enjoying their meal at an indoor restaurant, stirred an ugly controversy on social media.




There were reports that claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia also launched an inquiry in this matter and the players were asked to isolate themselves from the main squad.

As per the latest updates, the cricketers are allowed to train separately from the entire squad till the investigation in the matter is completed, their participation is in doubt. In addition, controversy has also erupted on the venue of the fourth Test after the video went viral as the hosts the visitors are hesitant in traveling to Brisbane owing to their strict quarantine rules.




Meanwhile, during a virtual press-conference, Australia’s opening batsman Matthew Wade also talked about the whole controversy and made it clear that the Australian cricket team’s concern about what Indian cricketers are doing off-the-field. Wade also believes that not much can be done about the whole scene. He said:

“What India is doing, I haven’t really thought too much about it, I have seen the photo, it is what it is, people a lot higher than me are sorting it out, as a group and me personally, we are not worried what India is doing outside of the cricket ground, we cannot do much about it,”
