This Gesture of Mayank Agarwal Before Leaving For South Africa Has Won Many Hearts: After defeating the World Test Champions New Zealand on home soil in the recently concluded Test series, the Indian cricket team is all set to lock horns with South Africa in the upcoming bilateral series. The tour will consist of three Tests matches and as many ODIs, kickstarting from December 26, 2021. The team is scheduled to travel to South Africa this week but before flying to South Africa, the Indian cricket team and staff members entered quarantine in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Indian opener Mayank Agarwal, who recently impressed one and all with his batting heroics in the second Test match in Mumbai against New Zealand, won everyone’s hearts with his gesture before leaving for quarantine session. The cricketer took to Twitter and shared an emotional post, featuring some amazing pictures of him seeking blessings from his grandmother.




In the pictures, Mayank’s grandmother can be seen performing a ritualistic Tika Aarti before he joined his teammates in the bio-bubble. Sharing the adorable pictures, Mayank wrote an emotional post where he revealed how no tour of his starts without this ritual. He expressed how the blessings of his grandmother are the foundation of his life. He wrote:

No tour starts without this. Grandmom’s teeka and blessings before every competition. It’s been so for as long as I can recall. Their blessings are the foundation on which I build myself. The emotions and the memories are priceless.”
