Meet Imran Tahir’s Wife Sumayya Dildar For Whom He Left Pakistan

Meet Imran Tahir’s Wife Sumayya Dildar For Whom He Left Pakistan: Imran Tahir was one of the best white-ball leg-spinners of the past decade. He played 107 ODIs and 38 T20Is picking up a combined 236 international limited-overs wickets.

He also has snapped up 451 T20 and 369 List-A wickets and is one of the most sought after T20 franchise spinners despite his age of 43.

Born and brought up in Lahore, Imran Tahir made the long journey to South Africa via England because of the love of his life, his wife, Sumayya Dildar.

Imran Tahir was making his name in the under-19 circuit of Pakistan and met Sumayya Dildar on the trip to South Africa for the 1998 under-19 World Cup. That casual meeting had sparked something between the pair: upon returning home, Imran continuously missed Sumayya and then he frequently visited her in South Africa.

Sumayya Dildar is a resident of South Africa but is of Indian origin. Though not many details about her could be found – she doesn’t have a public profile on social media and prefers to keep her life private – it is learned that she had been a model before marriage when she decided to become a homemaker.

The couple started dating and their relationship become quite serious soon. Tahir moved to South Africa in 2006 and married Sumayya the next year. They later welcomed a baby boy, whom they had lovingly named Gibran.

He quit Pakistan cricket and began making a mark in the Protea domestic circuit. He finished as the third-highest wicket-taker in the 2008-09 first-class competition. He soon got a national call-up and made his ODI debut in the 2011 World Cup; T20 and Tests debuts followed.

While his Test career lasted 20 matches, he became a legend in white-ball cricket. Tahir has featured in more than 25 teams, including four English counties and is a multiple-time IPL winner with Chennai Super Kings.
