IPL 2020 was finally announced after a lot of drama amidst an ongoing pandemic that has broken hell loose on the face of this planet.
Under unprecedented circumstances, the domestic extravaganza is all set to go through under stringent safety measures which will also see beefed up security and social distancing pointers in place.
As we are all aware of the fact that this virus has taken its toll on people with an emasculated immunity and hence this edition of the fray will also see optimum levels of fitness which won’t be a benchmark of excellence but a de rigueur to survive.
On that note, we will look at the youngest players who are all set to feature in this year’s IPL for each franchise.
1. Kamlesh Nagarkoti – Kolkata Knightriders
Towering at 5 feet 9 inches, this fast bowler failed to impress in his first two seasons with KKR. However, this youngster is touted for his brutal pace, laced with some substantial swing that riveted the fanfare when he played a crucial role for the Indian U-19 team and also has been a phenomenal bowling force for Rajasthan.
Being of an extremely tender age of just 20 years, this youngster has failed to find his foothold in the league of elites. He is the youngest player for KKR in this season.
2. Sam Curran – Chennai Super Kings
A bowling all-rounder hailing all the way from England, he is an absolute ripper in the ranks of Chennai Super Kings.
Only 22 years old, Curran is the youngest cricketer in the ranks of Chennai.
With the exciting spectrum that this young man brings along with him, Chennai will obviously be looking forward for at him to reap handsome dividends.
3. Devdutt Paddikal – Royal Challengers Bangalore
This 20-year old local lad made the sounds for all the right reasons, as Devdutt Paddikal created quite a few ripples in first-class cricket.
He is the youngest cricketer to feature in the Bangalore line up which will see him making his debut in this cash-rich league.
4. Prithvi Shaw – Delhi Capitals
This 20-year old prodigy is all set to make a comeback in this year’s IPL after a rough phase in the earlier years.
An extremely talented batsman who hogged the limelight om his very debut for India, Shaw would be eager to leave a mark on this year’s IPL.
5. Yashashvi Jaiswal – Rajasthan Royals
From selling Pani puri to being a man of the tournament in the u-19 World Cup, Yashashvi Jaiswal has come up a long way up the ladder.
This 18-year-old is raring to make his debut in IPL as he is the youngest Royal in their decorated ranks for the current edition of the tournament.
6. Abdul Samad – Sunrisers Hyderabad
The only player to feature from the ragged lands of Jammu and Kashmir in this year’s IPL, Abdul Samad is another talented 18-year old to announce his footfall in the domestic cricketing fiesta.
His talent was highly talked about in the domestic circuit as he is known for his exquisite stroke-play and relentless aggression once he gets going.
7. Ravi Bishnoi – Kings XI Punjab
In complete contrast to their oldest player, Chris Gayle, Bishnoi is only 19 years old. He will be looking forward to playing an imperative role under the leadership of Anil Kumble.
His U-19 World Cup heroics notched him up a whopping Rs 2 crore deal in the 2019 IPL auction.
8. Anukul Roy – Mumbai Indians
Being of a tender age of just 21 years, Anukul Roy is an unheralded moniker in the illustrious ranks of domestic cricket. He is nicknamed as “Samastipur’s Ravindra Jadeja” which must have already given you the cue of his exciting spinning ability.
He is the youngest cricketer for Mumbai in this year’s IPL as there will be eyes on him.
