Indian star opener Shubman Gill silenced his critics as he brought his second Test century in style during the fourth and final match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Gill reached the triple-figure mark in 194 deliveries, smashing 10 fours and a six en route to his ton in Ahmedabad.
Shubman Gill Played A Stunning Knock
Gill, who replaced struggling KL Rahul in the playing XI, was under pressure after he failed to leave an impact with the bat in the previous Test match, where he registered scores of 21 and 5 across both innings.
Early on in the innings, Gill chose an aggressive stance. He demonstrated his determination when, in the penultimate over of Day 2, he stepped out against Nathan Lyon and smacked him for a huge six over long-on. It’s interesting to note that Gill, during the second innings of the previous Test in Indor, got out trying a similar hit.
Gill showed his intent by going early into his innings in Ahmedabad and contributing to the total score.
Gill carried the momentum in the first session of Day 3. While his batting partner Rohit Sharma was dismissed early, Gill carried on with his aggressive stroke-playing against the Aussie batters.
Gill reached his half-century in 89 deliveries and then he formed an amazing partnership with Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara. Right before the tea session, Gill struck his second Test century.

Gill was eventually dismissed after scoring 128 runs off 235 balls. His stunning knock was laced with 12 fours and a stunning six.
