[ENG vs NZ] Fans Come Up With Funny Memes On Rahul + Sachin=Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra

In his first-ever World Cup match, Rachin Ravindra batted quite similarly to what the two great batters in his name used to: against England, liting up the opening match of the World Cup 2023, Rachin Ravindra showed the aggression of Sachin Tendulkar and the class of Rahul Dravid to help New Zealand to a thumping win over the defending champions.

He brought up his century in only 82 balls, as his mammoth partnership with Devon Conway, who also smoothly knocked over a hundred, made England’s total of 282 runs look much small and the target much comfortable.

This was a proper thumping from the Kiwis over Jos Buttler’s side, who really looked out of sorts with the ball, even considering that batting tends to get easier as the game progresses here at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The 23-year-old Rachin Ravindra was born to Indian parents in Wellington. His father, Ravi Krishnamurthy, is a software architect from Bangalore who then setlled in New Zealand. Krishnamurthy is a big fan of Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. So when his son was born in 1999, he decided to name him with the ‘Ra’ of Rahul Dravid and the ‘Chin’ of Sachin Tendulkar.

As Rachin went on the demolishing act of the England batters, fans on Twitter came up with funny tweets and memes on the youngster.

Memes on Rachin Ravindra’s name:

New Zealand defeated England by 9 wickets, gunning down the target of 283 runs in only 36.2 overs, which is set to put a massive dent to England’s NRR. Conway remained unbeaten on 152 and Ravindra on 123, the pair adding a collosal partnership of 273 runs in 211 balls.

Teams:

England (Playing XI): Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler(w/c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood

New Zealand (Playing XI): Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(w/c), Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner, James Neesham, Matt Henry, Trent Boult
