Michael Hussey Feels Playing County Would Have Benefited Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team are all set for the test series against England that will begin from August 1st. All the eyes will be on Virat Kohli for many reasons, one of them being, that he struggled during their previous visit to the country in 2014.

Virat Kohli is being tipped to better his record in the upcoming contest. However, Virat Kohli is currently looking very determined and is in great form, since a past few months. He performed like a lone wolf in the season 11 of IPL and in the just concluded Test and ODI series in England.

However,in the month of June, after the IPL were over, Virat Kohli had planned to play in the County Championship in a bid to prepare well but suffered a neck injury during the IPL and had to step back because of the same.

Mitchael Hussey, the former Australian cricketer feels that the County stint would have helped Virat Kohli and have benefited him for the series ahead. Apart from this, Hussey has also backed Virat Kohli for the series. He said :

“It’s just a shame he picked up that injury and couldn’t go early to play county. It would have helped him a lot,”

However, Hussey had no doubts about Virat playing well in the series ahead. Talking about the same he said :

“I am sure Virat would have learnt a lot from the 2014 Test series and that experience will help him now. He is going to be very determined like always. How he starts is going to be the key. If he gets his confidence up and spends some time at the crease, it will give him momentum. Once he gets his confidence, he will be hard to stop,”

What are your thoughts about this? Do you agree with Mitchael Hussey?
