Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has expressed his disappointment over the batting performance of the England batsmen in the ongoing 4th Test against India in Ahmedabad. This has come as a big surprise to one and all as ever since the ongoing 4-match kickstarted, Vaughan has been constantly criticizing the pitches.
Michael was also amongst those to take a dig on the Ahmedabad’s pitch for the third test match as it assisted spinners from day one, according to him. However, seems like Michael Vaughan has taken a u-turn on his statement as he has come hard on the England batsmen after they crumbled once again.
After opting to bat first, England cricket team lost four wickets early, including the wicket of skipper Joe Root. While the opener Dom Sibley perished to a straight delivery from Axar Patel, losing his wicket, on the other hand, Zak Crawley tried using his feet against Axar Patel however he was dismissed after Siraj took a stunning catch at mid-off.
The skipper Joe Root was dismissed by Siraj, who trapped him with a string of outswingers. After lunch, Siraj also dismissed Jonny Bairstow with an in-ducket to peg the visitors.
Meanwhile, the former cricketer took to his twitter and expressed his disappointment over the batting performances of his countrymen. He also stated that the ball is coming nicely and is perfect to get a big first innings score.
He also underlined that the track has not assisted spinners, leaving the England batsmen with an opportunity to make a huge first-inning score. However, as per Vaughan, England’s batsmen have put on a poor batting performance thus far. He wrote:
“England’s batting so far worse than any of the last few Tests … This Pitch is a perfect surface to get a big first innings score … No spin … Ball coming onto the Bat … Very poor Batting so far … #INDvENG”
