Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has slammed  United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s decision to uphold the ban on recreational cricket.  Well, on Tuesday, UK PM Boris called the cricket ball as a ‘natural vector of disease’.

Boris’s statements have come out in response to Conservative MP Greg Clark’s question, who had said that half of the year has been lost because of the Coronavirus and asked if the game could be resumed now. He had said:

“Cricket is perhaps our most socially-distanced team sport,” he said. “We’ve lost half the summer but there is another half left to be enjoyed by players and spectators alike.” On Saturday, he had tweeted that it was “absurd that no cricket can be played this midsummer weekend”.

Responding to his question, Greg Clarke said:

“The problem with cricket, as everyone understands is that the ball is a natural vector of disease – potentially, at any rate. At the moment, we’re still working on ways to make cricket more Covid-secure but we can’t change the guidance yet.”

His comments didn’t go down well with the former England skipper Michael Vaughan, who took to his twitter and slammed British PM Boris Johnson. In his tweet, he came up with a solution to the problem related to this. He said:

“Hand sanitiser in every players pocket … Use every time you touch the ball … SIMPLE … Recreational Cricket should just play from July 4th … utter nonsense it’s not being allowed back”

Here, check out his tweet:

Meanwhile, the statements of Boris Johnson will not have any effect on England’s upcoming series against West Indies, which is all set to begin from 8th July.
