The auctions for the Indian Premier League 2018 saw some spectacular purchases and some young talents like Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Rashid Khan, and many others for handsome prices. But it also saw some of the highly reputed international players go unsold in the auctions and that sprung as the biggest surprise among all.

Big names like Morne Morkel, Joe Root, Hashim Amla, Lasith Malinga and Mitchell McClenaghan went unsold in the Indian Premier League auctions 2018. Mitchell McClenaghan was really good for the Mumbai Indians in the last seasons and in fact was an impact player.

Mitchell McClenaghan has 54 IPL wickets from just 40 games and it is surprising to see the Mumbai Indians not really interested in buying him back or in fact, no other team showed much interest in Mitchell McClenaghan, the speed gun from New Zealand.

In an emotional message posted by Mitchell McClenaghan on Twitter, the Kiwi has thanked the Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma for his wonderful tenure of 3 years with the Mumbai Indians. He further added that is was a great experience to be a part of the Mumbai Indians squad and we would be all excited to watch the Mumbai Indians play.

This is a really emotional message coming from Mitchell McClenaghan after going unsold in the IPL 2018 auctions and not returning to the Mumbai Indians, the defending champions. Mitchell McClenaghan took it in the right spirit and extended his warm wishes to the Mumbai Indians who would walk out to defend their title.
