Mithali Raj Slams A Twitter Troll With A Classy Reply, Says ‘I Am Very Proud Indian’

Mithali Raj, the skipper of Indian women’s cricket team for ODIs is not just winning hearts on the field with his exceptional performances but is also winning hearts on social media after she recently slammed a troll for his remarks on her Tamil identity.

Mithali Raj was replying to the ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar for his tweet, where he had congratulated her and the women’s team for 3-0 series win over South Africa. Thanking the greatest cricketer, Mithali Raj wrote:

“It feels nice to be acknowledged by a person who I have looked up to all my life .. thank you champion ?.”

Not impressed by her using the English language, a troll posted an apparent remark on her Tamil identity. The troll wrote:

“She doesn’t know Tamil. She will speak in eng, Telugu, Hindi.”

Mithali Raj was quick to spot the unnecessary tweet and slammed him with a brilliant reply. Raj wrote in Tamil saying Tamil is her mother tongue and she speaks the language pretty well. Adding further she said she is a “very proud Indian”. She wrote:

“தமிழ் என் தாய் மொழி..
நான் தமிழ் நன்றாக பேசுவேன்..
தமிழனாய் வாழ்வது எனக்கு பெருமை.. but above it all I am very proud indian ! Also my dear sugu ,you constant criticism on each and every post of mine ,you day to day advice on how and what should I do is exactly what keeps me going”
