Mithali Raj was replying to the ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar for his tweet, where he had congratulated her and the women’s team for 3-0 series win over South Africa. Thanking the greatest cricketer, Mithali Raj wrote:

“It feels nice to be acknowledged by a person who I have looked up to all my life .. thank you champion ?.”

Not impressed by her using the English language, a troll posted an apparent remark on her Tamil identity. The troll wrote:

“She doesn’t know Tamil. She will speak in eng, Telugu, Hindi.”

Mithali Raj was quick to spot the unnecessary tweet and slammed him with a brilliant reply. Raj wrote in Tamil saying Tamil is her mother tongue and she speaks the language pretty well. Adding further she said she is a “very proud Indian”. She wrote:

“தமிழ் என் தாய் மொழி..
நான் தமிழ் நன்றாக பேசுவேன்..
தமிழனாய் வாழ்வது எனக்கு பெருமை.. but above it all I am very proud indian ! Also my dear sugu ,you constant criticism on each and every post of mine ,you day to day advice on how and what should I do is exactly what keeps me going”
