The Indian cricket team has leveled the ongoing 3-match T20I series against Australia with a thrilling win in an eight-over face-off. Captain Rohit Sharma turned out to be the star of the night for the Men in Blue as he played an incredible knock with the bat. He was well supported by Dinesh Karthik from the other end, who gave a perfect finish to the game.

Earlier, after the match was reduced to an 8-over contest with every bowler allowed to bowl a maximum of two overs, Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah’s impressive spell with the ball laid the platform for the hosts. Axar Patel conceded just 13 runs in his two-over spell with the new-ball. Australian captain Aaron Finch looked in great touch as he played a crucial cameo of 31 in just 15 balls. His stan at the crease was cut short by n unplayable yorker by Jasprit Bumrah. Australia finished with a score of 90 runs on the scoreboard.

Coming out with the bat, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain KL Rahul gave the Indian cricket team a perfect start by striking 20 runs in the first over of the game. Despite wickets falling around him, Rohit continued his fluent knock and put India on the brink of a win. However, the game headed towards an intense finish with the Indian side needing 9 runs in the last over as Pat Cummins produced the big wicket of Hardik Pandya in the 7th over.

Dinesh Karthik once again justified his spot in the team as he wrapped the game in a stunning way by smashing a six and a four of the first two balls of the last over. Rohit remained unbeaten at the crease with a knock of 46 runs in just 20 balls. His knock was laced with four 4s and four 6s.

Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with reactions from the fans, who were left in awe of the amazing knock played by Rohit Sharma. Among many, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also took to his social media and hailed Rohit for his performance.

Kaif came up with a very special Tweet, hailing the skills, passion and technique of Rohit Sharma, which makes him the perfect mix. He wrote:”Rohit sharma has skills, technique and jazba the perfect mix when you are chasing 11 runs per over. One player all formats. @ImRo45  #INDvsAUS”
