Mohammad Shahzad has been in outstanding form for Afghanistan in limited-overs cricket. During the third T20I match between Afghanistan and Ireland at Greater Noida stadium on Sunday, Afghanistan surpassed India’s Virat Kohli in the list of leading run-getters in T20I cricket.
Virat Kohli has scored 1709* runs in 48 matches in T20I cricket. Whereas Mohammad Shahzad has played 58* matches and scored 1749* runs. His highest score in T20I cricket 118* and he has a very good batting average of 32.38.
The 29-year-old, who has scored over 100 runs in three T20 matches, is now among the top four run-getters in the shortest format of the game. Only New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill and Sri Lanka’s TM Dilshan.
