MS Dhoni All Set To Be Retained For Next 3 Seasons By Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings are likely to retain their most experienced player and the legendary skipper MS Dhoni for the next three Indian Premier League seasons. CSK retaining Dhoni wouldn’t come as a surprise, as the former Indian skipper has been instrumental in the success of the yellow army.

MS Dhoni All Set To Be Retained For Next 3 Seasons By Chennai Super Kings

Recently, at a CSK event, MS Dhoni had confirmed that his last T20 game will be in Chennai, putting his IPL retirement speculations to rest. Dhoni had said: “I have always planned my cricket. My last ODI in India was in Ranchi. Hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it’s next year or in five years’ time, I don’t know,”

As per the reports, apart from MS Dhoni, the franchise is all set to retain all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who played a crucial role in leading the yellow army to their 4th title.

With this, CSK might not retain their star player Suresh Raina and this will happen for the first time in IPL history. Raina, who has been an integral part of the team ever since the inception of IPL, has been out of touch and didn’t play crucial knockout IPL games.

As franchises are permitted to retain only four players, Suresh Raina might miss out, considering the franchise would be looking at building a core team for the future.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2022 mega auction will be kick off somewhere between December 2021 and January 2022. The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to be played in its regular April-May window.
