MS Dhoni Talks About His Relationship With CSK Fans For The First Time

MS Dhoni is one of the most loved personalities in India. He has earned the love and respect of millions of cricket fans in India by taking the Indian cricket to great heights as a captain and wicketkeeper-batsman. The whole nation is crazy for MS Dhoni but there is something very special in Dhoni’s relationship with the people of south India, especially Chennai.

MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the most efficient and effective manner and he is a hero for each and every CSK fan. It can be easily said that MS Dhoni is the second most loved player in the history of Indian cricket, after Sachin Tendulkar. But, if we talk only about the Southern part of India, there is no bigger cricketer than MS Dhoni.

Recently, while talking to Star Sports, MS Dhoni spoke about his relationship with the CSK fans for the first time. Dhoni said that CSK has helped him in improving many aspects of his life. He has learned to handle situations, on and off the field.

“This journey started in 2008, CSK has helped me improve in everything whether it was being a human being or being a cricketer, handling situations that are tough both in and out of the field and how to be humble once you are doing well,” said MS Dhoni while speaking on Return of the Lion show on Star Sports Network.

MS Dhoni is fondly called ‘Thala’ by his fans in Chennai and the former Indian skipper spoke about it for the first time ever. He said that it’s their way of showing love and respect.

“Whenever I am in Chennai or down South they never call me by my name, they address me as ‘Thala’ and the moment someone calls me ‘Thala’ they are showing their love and respect but at the same time he is a CSK fan,” MS Dhoni said.

‘Thala’ basically means brother, so for me, it’s more the abstract of the fans, the love and affection towards me is the reflection of that. Whenever I am in Chennai or down South they never call me by my name they address me as ‘Thala’ and the moment someone calls me Thala they are showing their love and respect but at the same time he is a CSK fan,” MS Dhoni added.
