After kickstarting their IPL 2020 campaign with a powerful win against Mumbai Indians in the season opener, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings faced their first defeat of the season by the hands of Rajasthan Royals in the second match. MS Dhoni and his squad couldn’t chase the target runs and lost the match by 16 runs.
During both the games, MS Dhoni – the skipper made some bold decisions by sending all-rounders Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja ahead of himself and demoting himself down the order. He was praised for this decision in the first match as it worked in favor of the team as Sam Curran gave a powerful performance.
On the other hand, Dhoni, who walked to bat at number 6 during the second match, is getting badly criticized for his decision by cricket experts and fans. In the match against RR, Dhoni scored a 17-ball unbeaten 29.
Besides being criticized for coming late to bat, he is often criticized and trolled for wasting balls while setting up on-field. Though the legendary keeper-batsman managed to hit three stunning maximums in the final over, however, the harm was already done as it was too late by then.
Soon after CSK was defeated by Rajasthan Royals, social media was flooded with people criticizing MS Dhoni for his performance and for his decision of coming late to bat. From memes, jokes to tweets blaming him for the defeat, people just can’t stop talking about MS Dhoni’s performance.
However, there were many fans of Dhoni, who took stand for the cricketer and decided to shut the troll. Among many, a popular Twitter user, with the username ‘Neeche Se Topper’ also took to his twitter and posted a tweet to shut Dhoni’s critics.
In his tweet, the fan mentioned the stunning six smashed by the legendary cricketer, that went straight outside the ground. He wrote:
