MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings is all set to take on Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2023 clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai tonight. Dhoni, who is associated with the Chennai-based franchise ever since its evolution, will make a landmark appearance tonight when he will walk out for the toss.
MS Dhoni Becomes First Captain To Score ‘200’
Dhoni, who is hailed as one of the greatest captains to have ever played the game of cricket, was named the captain of the Chennai-based franchise in the year 2008.
Dhoni has led his side to the playoffs in 11 out of the 13 seasons that CSK has been a part of since 2008. CSK is also the second most successful team in IPL history, having won the tournament 4-times. Not just this, under the leadership of Dhoni, the team has also reached the Indian Premier League final, a record 9 times.
So far, he has led Chennai Super Kings to 199 matches, out of which he has led his side to 120 wins with a winning percentage of an incredible 60.61%.
Dhoni holds several records and has achieved several milestones as a captain, as a batter, and as a wicket-keeper. Tonight, as he will walk out for the toss for the CSK vs RCB game, he will achieve another milestone in the league.
Tonight’s CSK vs RCB game will mark the 200th appearance of Dhoni as CSK captain.
Meanwhile, the star all-rounder of the team, Ravindra Jadeja hopes the team gives Thala a gift by winning the clash against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. Jadeja was quoted as saying on CSK’s official website, saying:
“What can I say, he is a legend of Indian cricket. So, I would like to wish him good luck. Hopefully in his 200th game, we will win in Chepauk and all the fans will be happy, so that we continue the momentum. Hopefully we win tomorrow and we give him a gift on his 200th (IPL) match as captain,”
