MS Dhoni made the right decision: Sourav Ganguly

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has said that MS Dhoni made the right decision by stepping down as India’s ODI and T20 captain. MS Dhoni took everyone by surprise by announcing his decision to step down as India’s limited overs captain. Sourav Ganguly said that MS Dhoni made the right decision by stepping down as captain.

“He made the decision based on the future and the needs of the Indian team.”

Praising MS Dhoni’s captaincy, Ganguly said that his ODI record is phenomenal and the numbers speak for themselves.

“His ODI records speak for themselves. He won everything, almost all tournaments so he was a great captain,” Sourav Ganguly was quoted as saying by Indiatoday.indiatoday.in

When asked about MS Dhoni’s biggest achievement, Sourav Ganguly rated ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 win as the highest point in MS Dhoni’s career as India’s limited-overs captain.

Ganguly was open to the idea of MS Dhoni continuing as a player till ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

“He is still fit and if he can motivate himself he can definitely play till the World Cup in 2019.”
