Last night’s match between CSK and KXIP was another thrilling match of this season of Indian Premier League, which is just a few matches old. The match was won by KXIP after one nail biting climax. However, the defeat of CSK was very heartbreaking for the fans of Dhoni.
Players from both the team tried their best to not let the other team win. Chris Gayle from KXIP and Dhoni from CSK, both of them made the match even more interesting and thrilling.
The way MS Dhoni sank in all the pressure at the second innings. He made every bit of his efforts to win the match.
However, after the match when Dhoni was asked about his performance, he appreciated the bowling skills of Mujeeb Zadran, the Afghanistan player who made it very tough for MS Dhoni to score runs at the last over. Here’s what he said:
“Not much going through my mind. They bowled very well, Mujeeb made a difference. I don’t think there was much dew on the ground. They played better than us. We can improve in few areas. Chris’ innings in the first innings and Mujeeb’s bowling made a difference”.
Dhoni also revealed the question that was going on in everyone’s mind as to why Dwayne Bravo was not promoted. He said:
“Fleming is in the dug out so he needs to take the decision. We have confidence in Jadeja because he being a left-hander is not easy for the bowlers. This is the time we need to give him the opportunity. If Jadeja can do the job of the floater that would be really good for the team as we have Raina at the top of the order. I will back him as we have not given him many opportunities”.
Dhoni also thanked god for giving him enough strength to sink in all the pressure, he said:
“I don’t know how bad my back is but it should be okay. God has given me enough power so I don’t have to rely on my back a lot. It shouldn’t be so bad. I am used to playing with the injuries. You have to be tough.”
Well, there’s a reason why he is the most loved and respected cricketer around the world.
