While Dhoni fans and the Chennai Super Kings fans were not yet done celebrating nicely on his retention, there comes a big disappointment for Dhoni fans. MS Dhoni has opted out of the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament.

The Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament is a domestic T20 league in India and it was being heavily speculated that MS Dhoni can be seen captaining Jharkhand in the domestic T20 league.

This comes as a big news as MS Dhoni opts himself out of the T20 team of Jharkhand which will play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Dhoni in all humility told JSCA that he would not play for Jharkhand in the domestic T20 league as he would not be available.

MS Dhoni informed the officials of the JSCA that he would not be available for the domestic tournament which will be played between January 7 and January 27.

Now the JSCA which was anticipating to have MS Dhoni in the team will have to look for an alternative to MS Dhoni. In another surprising decision, all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been left out by Baroda for the team to play in the same tournament.

MS Dhoni leading the Jharkhand side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament would have been a great asset for the team but MS Dhoni rather chose to gear himself up for the upcoming ODI and T20 series in South Africa.

While the other members of the team are playing the test series in South Africa, MS Dhoni has all the time to prepare nicely for the challenging tour of South Africa which will come his way soon. MS Dhoni was very happy to be back to the Chennai Super Kings camp as he was retained by the franchise along with Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja.
